Meet up with local guide before proceeding to the small town of Bintangor. Try the Tumpik, one of the Melanau's delicacies made from coconut and sago flour. Continue on to Sarikei Town, also known as The Fruit Basket of Sarawak and walk around to see old lines of shop and other trading activities that still going around in this place. Take a local boat ride to the opposite side of Sarikei Town to visit the Pineapple Island. Here you can see for yourself the pineapples that you normally see for sale in the town area being planted and grown. Try on to pick the pineapple on your own and taste the sweetness of the local fruits, how more fresh can you get.

After that, proceed on to visit one of the local peppers vineyard passing by Jakar rest stop along the way. See how the local farmer plant and process the peppers in their own family size farm. Maybe even get to buy some fresh black or white peppers straight from the farmers. Next, proceed to one of the nearby cottage industry that produce a variety of very fine weaving of handicraft made from bamboo. Buy some souvenirs to bring back home before getting back to Sibu.
